Thanks to the installation of a new line, one new production option is the more and more common use of multi-layer labels that resolve the issue of language versions for producers who deliver goods to multiple countries. Standard multi-layer labels are composed of two materials that create a three-sided brochure where the 4th side is self-adhesive. The first side is full colour while the second and third are normally single colour and sometimes two-colour. Labels can be applied automatically by a labelling line. Multi-layer labels (also known as multilayer, sandwich or coupon labels) are manufactured in a single pass through the machine and the materials used can be paper or foil. This helps save on costs where single language label production would be inefficient because of distribution to multiple countries.
